Hon. Vice President, Dr. Victor Bockarie Foh has in the afternoon of Saturday 19th August, 2017, at the Lungi International Airport, received the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The visiting Vice President who is in Sierra Leone on a one day visit, is leading a delegation of high profiled Ghanaian Ministers. These include the Minister of Defence, Hon. Dominic Ntiwul; Minister of Interior, Hon. Ambrose Dery; Minister of Aviation, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaa; Minister of Information, Hon. Mustapha Abdul Hamid; and the Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Education, Hon. Charles Owiredu and Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisia respectively.
Also accompanying the visiting Vice President is a team of sixteen officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) led by the Director General, Eric Nana Agyeman Prempeh.
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and his delegation are in Sierra Leone to commiserate with the Government and people of Sierra Leone on the monumental destruction caused by the Monday August 14th mudslide and flooding disaster that left hundreds of people dead with thousands of homes destroyed.
The visiting Vice President will be accompanied to Freetown where he will be meeting with the President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma where he is expected to deliver a consignment of relief items donated by the Ghanaian Government.
Before leaving for Ghana, the visiting Vice President will be visiting the epicentre at Mount Sugarloaf, Regent in the outskirts of Freetown.
Accompanying Vice President Victor Bockarie Foh to receive his Ghanaian counterpart are the Minister of Transport and Aviation, Hon. Leonard Balogun Koroma; Minister of Political and Public Affairs, Hon. Nanette Thomas; and Minister of State ll at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Isata Kabia.
