Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Hon. Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh accompanied by the Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE), Alpha Timbo and Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children Affairs, Baindu Dassama has yesterday 22nd October, 2019 paid an impromptu visit to the Milton Margai School for the Blind, Wilkinson Road in Freetown.

VP Juldeh Jalloh and team were there as part of a larger programme of President Bio’s resolve to provide the needed responses to disabled and special needs children.

Speaking to the school’s authorities there, VP Juldeh Jalloh expressed government’s determination to provide additional support to the school, especially in the area of infrastructure.

He spoke of the New Direction’s regular and increased payment of subventions to the school, as confirmed by the Head Teacher.

Making reference to plans by the school authorities to transform the facility into a secondary level, VP Juldeh Jalloh assured of his fullest collaboration with the MBSSE Minister in order to enhance the transition and to ease possible challenges.

He further pledged that government will swiftly manifest these deliverables in the forthcoming months.

VP Juldeh Jalloh mentioned the national action plan for disabled and special needs children encoded in a disability document government currently under formulation.

He stated that this is designed in order to guide government’s decisions for the disabled and special needs kinds.
