In order to promote tourism, the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in collaboration with the National Tourist Board is sponsoring Miss Sierra Leone 2018 to attend an international trade fair in France.
Sarah Laura Tucker, the newly-crowned Miss Sierra Leone will represent this country in the International French Tourism Market (IFTM) Top Resa Exhibition in Paris, France this year.
Funded by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and the National Tourist Board, Sarah Laura Tucker will join thousands of tourists in Port de Versailles, Paris, France from 25th – 28th September, 2018 to market Sierra Leone.
She will join other members of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, the National Tourist Board, the Monuments and Relics Commission and the Parliamentary Committee on Tourism and the private sector in this year’s French Tourism Market.
The rationale for taking Miss Sierra Leone to the French Tourism Trade Fair is to make her the face of Sierra Leone, according to Tourism Ministry sources.
‘We are 100 per cent behind Sarah and we will mentor her until she reaches her peak,’ remarked Jenneh of Miss Sierra Leone Limited.
Minister of Tourism, Memunatu Pratt assured her audience that they would do whatever it takes to transform tourism in the country.
“Miss Sierra Leone is the brand of the country and she is an ambassador for Sierra Leone,” she added.
She went on to state that an air ticket, visa and a DSA of $2,000 was presented to Sarah Laura Tucker. She assured her audience that she will woo investors to Sierra Leone.
