The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. Joseph Jonathan Ndanema has said in Njala University that, due to enormous benefits associated with Cassava, Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Agriculture will focus more on the production of cassava as a way of industrializing it.

The Minister noted that Cassava has several end products such as ‘garri’ ‘foo foo’ paste, and plenty others which are presently been used by millions of people across the World, adding that “Other Countries are making millions of dollars from the proceeds of the various end products of Cassava and Sierra Leone cannot afford to be left behind amidst vast arable and fertile lands” he explained.

The Minister said that, Cassava is a stable food for some countries across the globe and that Cassava can help turn around the Country’s economy if only adequate concentration is accorded to it.
