Sierra Leone Police Released On Bail Journalist Sallieu Tejan-Jalloh

Police in Sierra Leone have just released on bail journalist Sallieu Tejan-Jalloh of TIME newspaper after he was detained on Monday night following an SMS he sent to the country’s Chief Minister alleging bribery. The minister, Prof David Francis, ECOBANK where the alleged bribe was said to have been paid, and the iron ore miner SL Mining have all strenuously refuted the allegations. Questions are being asked though as to why the journalist was arrested for sending a text message to the minister seeking clarification.
