Yesterday we had Lunch with Bill & Melinda Gates. It was a great opportunity to have a candid, heart-to-heart discussion on how the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, can help build a greater Sierra Leone.
The Gates Foundation is renowned for being pro-active, and efficient. This is the kind of organisation suited to the vision of the new government of Sierra Leone.
The new government of Sierra Leone is committed to it’s people. The Gates foundation believes that investing in “human capital”—the health and education of young people—unlocks productivity and innovation, reduces poverty, and generates prosperity.
In Sierra Leone we have a young population, and now, with the new government, we have the political will, to fully support positive programmes. Investing in human capital is a necessity.
With H. E. Julius Maada Bio our visionary President, Professor David J. Francis our uncompromisingly objective Chief Minister, and our exceptionally brilliant young Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Moinina David Sengeh, we had a great team on the table. The discussion was fruitful. We are optimistic, as we anticipate positive development.
