“The narrative of the rise of African women in Football is about to Change…” – SLFA Boss Johansen

Morocco Football Federation has invited the Sierra Leone national U-20 women’s team for a friendly encounter scheduled for August 26/27 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
A 30-man delegation will depart the shores of Freetown on August 25 and return on the 31st.
The invitation from the Royal Kingdom of Morocco FA is borne out of the cooperation signed by both President Johansen and President Fouazi Lakjaa of the Moroccan FA. The cooperation is a mutual agreement aimed at fostering strong ties between the two Football Associations and by extension, building strong ties between the two countries.

Female football will be an area that both FAs will endeavor to strengthen and build knowledge and strength from each other. The youth league and national teams for both male and female categories are part of the agreement, which will see football administrators and technical officials benefit from.
Johansen has pledged to use her global goodwill to promote and strengthen the natural football talents that is in abundance in Sierra Leone.

Head Coach, Victoria Conteh expressed optimism in winning against their Moroccan counterpart and further described the friendly as “timely” and “a platform for international exposure”.
“This match will help us display the tactics we’ve learnt over the past weeks and will also be used as a training for our Tunisia encounter two weeks later. We hope to do our best and make Sierra Leone proud,” Coach Conteh said.
Both Sierra Leone and Morocco are preparing for the First Round Africa qualifying series for the 2018 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
Sierra Leone will be playing away to Tunisia on September 15; the same day that Morocco will host Senegal.
