FIFA REACTS TO ILLEGAL EXTRA-ORDINARY CONGRESS

In a letter dated 10th August 2018, FIFA responds to the so-called extraordinary congress held by parallel Football ‘stakeholders’ faction supported by the Sierra Leone Minister and Deputy Minister of Sports stating that;

_ “the holding of the said Congress is neither in line with the content of our letter dated 12th July 2018, nor with the road map signed by the members of the Fifa task force on the 29th sept 2017 which was subsequently endorsed by the Fifa Members Association Committee.”

-“going forward we expect everyone to strictly abide to the agreed road map.”

-“furthermore we take note that the Minister of sports seems to have led the above mentioned extraordinary congress and that he allegedly indicated that he might file a request to dissolve the SLFA. Such actions appear to be in contravention of *art.14 par.1 let.i and art. 19 par.1 of the FIFA Statutes which oblige all member associations to manage their affairs independently without undue influence from third parties.

-“we would like to confirm that the Enquiry Group Sierra Leone will be visiting Sierra Leone soon…”
