FCC and MASADA intensify street sweeping across the city

The Freetown City Council together with waste management service provider, MASADA, are working with existing ward based Operation Clean Freetown youth groups to sweep the streets of Freetown. Building on the training and waste management experience gained from providing door to door waste collection, the youth groups are using their existing tools and tricycles to provide additional street sweeping services on a daily basis.

MASADA bins have also been placed in various locations across the city including 18 markets and 25 key streets. The introduction of sustained street sweeping and the placing of street bins within the city are part of the comprehensive waste management solution being developed and gradually rolled out by FCC.
