Changing The Narratives On Road Safety In Sierra Leone

We Promised, And We’re Delivering!!

Changing The Narratives On Road Safety In Sierra Leone 🇸🇱.

Day Two Of #OperationPushBack.. An Operation That Is Geared Towards Decongesting the #CentralBusinessDistrict to Ensure #FreeFlow of Vehicular Traffic and Safety of Vulnerable Road Users.. At Key Strategic Locations; #KissyRoad, #FourahBayRoad, and #GoderichStreet.

Few Weeks Ago, Commuters in #Lumley, #Goderich and its Environs, West End of Freetown Enjoyed what I’d Describe As ‘Moment of Relief’ from the shackles of Unending Traffic Congestion caused mainly by Drivers, Street Traders and by extension Pedestrians.

This Move made news headlines in both the print and electronics media and the lead Agency #SLRSA that instituted the said operation received lots of commendations and accolade from Commuters in that part of the country and called for it to be sustainable and replicated in the #CBD and other areas in the East of the Capital Freetown.

After series of fruitful engagement with Key stakeholders including the Deputy Mayor of Freetown City Council #FCC, Representatives from The Sierra Leone Roads Authority #SLRA, Sierra Leone Police #SLP, Market Women Association, Traders Union, Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces #RSLAF, it was unanimously agreed that the same be instituted in the East.

The SLRSA in the early hours on Monday 10th June 2019, launched and enforced #OperationPushBack in the East of Freetown and the pictures speaks volume of how we can restore sanity on our roads and thus save lives.
